This is my 5 inch Model 29. I have used in competition, Taken deer with it and currently use it for home defense. This revolver has many jobs and does them all well.

Cheesehead, nice packable gun, I've got a few of those, myself. And the weight won't pull your pants down, either.

Thanks S.B.

I like the 5 inch length. It makes the gun somewhat unique.

It probably does, just as all the other bright stainless guns do. I'm not a stealthy mercenary who drifts through the streets in camouflage so it really doesn't matter. My state has a concealed carry law so if I have to draw it, it will discharge at the same time it sparkles.

I, was thinking more along the "it may startle game" line? Sorry, I guess my mentallity is more about hunting than killing people.

It's my self defense carry weapon and it wouldn't serve very well for a game gun. I share the same mentality but a self defense weapon is what it is.

Hey flash,
Firtst off, great looking revolver!  Secondly, how did you do that?  I'm curious about what tools, polishing compounds  and anything else you may have used on that.  I think it really looks great!

Thanks Ted. As you can see, the billboard came off the barrel also but that took a little longer. I got all the supplies from www.supergrit.com in Gettysburg. I used some gray, 300 grit compound on a buffing wheel, some 1,000 and 2,500 grit silicon carbide paper and some green polishing compound. The white compound is for aluminum and brass so it won't do too much more than the green does. The buffing wheel must spin fast and my grinder isn't rated for wheels less that 3,500 rpm so that should give you an idea how fast it spins. After smoothing out all the high spots, I load a new cloth wheel up with the green compound and start buffing. Including the time it took to remove the billboard, the total time investment was two hours. Hope this helps.

Next project in the making

Thanks for the information!  I'm trying to think if I loaded a cloth wheel in my cordless drill would work....  Probably not.

I tried convincing my wife last night that she needed a GP100 6" 357 and she didn't believe me.  I'm trying to talk her into an Alaska trip and trying to convince her that she'll need that gun.  It's a tough sell especially since the trip is one of those "some-day" things we're talking about.

Looks like a great project.  I'll look forward to seeing the pictures once it's all done if you post them.

Correct. The cordless is way too under powered for the task. Good luck with you're wife. We all need it sometime.

The finished product. The polish don't show too well in this light but she sure does look better than before.

Sorry Bill for taking so long. You can contact the maker here  jk1944@myway.com  and he's pretty reasonable.
