Where to Shoot?
« on: August 02, 2006, 05:32:56 PM »
a moderator may want to put this as a sticky so it is available for future reference when the search feachure is down - like it is now

I live in the Seattle, Washington area and would like to know if there are still any places nearby to shoot "Hunters pistol" NRA or?
Is there somplace on the net that lists clubs that shoot Hunter's Pistol.
I am a life member of the NRA and they might list it in the other publication but I get the rifleman.
I am thinking about starting up again if I can find some place close.
Maybe we can list places alphabetically by state?

Hodgdon, Lyman, Speer, Sierra, Hornady = reliable resources
so and so's pages on the internet = not reliable resources
Alway check loads you find on the internet against manuals.

I know that there are clubs that shoot NRA Hunter pistol over there in western Washington, because some of the guys come over to Idaho to our state matches.  I don't know exactly where they live but their first names are Phil and Mike.  Phil has set lots of national records and if you go to the NRA web sight and look at records you can get his last name and maybe his city.

I hope this helps

You can only hit the target if the barrel is pointed in the right direction when the bullet leaves the barrel.

The two closest ranges to you are probably the IHMSA clubs in Langley & Puyallup.  If you go to www.ihmsa.org, you'll find the 2006 match schedule that has match dates, disciplines shot, and contact information for the match directors of each club.

There is also a club in Lynden, but that appears to be over 100 miles from you.

Best of luck.

Thanks for all the replies.
Now I have to do a quick stop at the NRA site and see if there is anything closer than Puyallup (30 miles).
Rick, what is an FOP? I know I have heard it but my mind is going blank.
