Pro Hunter Tune Up....All Chime In
« on: August 05, 2006, 04:57:24 AM »
Ok...I just got my new Pro Hunter T-hole stock 25-06.  Love the ergonomics of this rifle.  Ok...who, what and where is the best place to get a first class trigger job, recrown the barrel and maybe even rechamber to 25-06 Improved 40 degree?  If there are some childish games about you can't say someone's name or company on here then send them to me in a private message or email them to Guns4570@aol.com.  As I don't have time for 3 y.o. games on public forums.  Sorry thats my personal opinion when I see (name removed) in parens in posts on here.  Mounted a Warne steel base and low rings on it with a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x44 mildot.  This combo rocks in your hands.

I was interested in your post until you got insulting, Graybeard has the right to remove any name or company he deems necessary for whatever reason. But if you want to get down to it, your post was childish in my opinion and unwarranted.  If you don't like the rules, move on.

Redhawk, all of these things you say are true as we do not own this site, but are allowed to use it IF we abide by the rules of this site.

Concerning the original post, it is not practical to re-chamber a round to an AI version without setting the barrel back so that the headspacing will be proper, & you have a "crush fit" for head spacing. So, there is no best gunsmith for this as a good gunsmith won't do it. To use this barrel, you would need to go to a chambering like the 257 Hawk, which is longer or a version in 257 like the 280JRS.
I will bet that the Pro-Hunter barrels will be available in 25-06 AI in a year or 2 at Fox Ridge Outfitters. If not, I am thinking about buying a 7mm08 barrel & re-chambering to 280AI, again to avoid the problems of buying a 280 barrel.

Redhawk, I made this entry only for the sake of mentioning to someone who may look at the first post & wants to re-chamber a 25-06 barrel to 25-06AI.

Redhawk et al, I see no mention in the TOS where they ban mention of a person or company.  That being said, if its one particular company thats been ban from being mentioned here, well what is the reason?  If the place makes or does dangerous things to T/C products then I would like to know about it.  I tried to scan most of the posts here and could not find a place where a list of companies or such were banned from the forum so how was I or anyone else to know this other than a new comer shows up and sees this Paren thing going on in posts.  I have been on Greybeard for a good many years just never in the T/C forum.  So this is the first place I have seen this occur and definitely to the degree it happens in this one particular forum.  If the moderator, yourself or others want me to stay out of here, I will do so w/o a problem.

You knew enough to comment on the fact that this name was not allowed.  While it is not uncommon for those who don't know to post about this person it is unwise for anyone to question our hosts reasons for not wanting mention this name and business here.  It is kind of like messing up in someones home, then getting defensive when called on it.

I see someone pushing the envelope on the next post down.  Perhaps you two would be happier hanging together elsewhere.
