the 700ml is a very troubled rifle in it's design. in my opinion, yes you are selling the wrong rifle. remington has discontinued it and gone with the genesis, which is a poor rifle as well.
you wanna take my guns? go ahead, it's your arm!

Unless you like spending about 3-4 times (maybe more) as much time cleaning, you are selling the wrong rifle. I personally don't own either but I have 7 other muzzleloaders and friends that have both the Omega and Remington, and the Omega is probably the easiest/fastest to clean muzzleloader made and the 700ml is probably the hardest/slowest to clean IMO. Some of the Remingtons shoot good (some don't), but EVERY Omega my friends have shoot very well with saboted bullets and even three pellet loads if you want to go there.

You will have to make the decision, but if it were me, the Remington would be gone in a flash.

Try this, it may help you make your decision. Take each rifle in there clean state and time yourself taking them apart, breech plugs out. Take the bolt out of the Remington and take apart, see what a pain it will be cleaning out the blowback out of the action, off your scope and exterior of the rifle. Now think about the Omega, no blowback on the scope, everything is just so much easier to clean. Just something to think about.

All I can say is keep the Omega. Why do you think your friend wants it.  ;D

Keep the Omega. As has been said, easy to clean, accurate, durable.

I have them both, actually I have two Remingtons and an Omega.  Comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges... They are different, they really are different generation of guns.  I am one of those that really like the Remingtons, either of the two that I own will shoot any thing I want and very accurately.  The Omega will do the same.  I would honestly say that neither gun will really outshoot the other.

I woulds say that the Omega is the more modern design and more user freindly, it has it's quirks and issues as does the Remington.

If I were offered the opportunity to buy an Omega or a Remington "today" and everything being equal I would choose the Omega.

Good luck with your decision - both are good guns one is more modern...

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - they are a blast....

I've owned several BP rifles, I would rank the Omega #1 and Thompson Encore  #2.......have owned only one bolt type, a Black Diamond........very accurate.just a pain to reload and clean. Keep the Omega........
