45-70 handi "limited edition"
« on: August 08, 2006, 04:19:28 PM »
I took delivery of a rifle I bought from a fellow out of state today.
First good look I have gotten of it.
It has a medallion in the right cheek of the stock "h&r 1871 " limited edition.
Has a nice thick factory recoil pad, and a nicely blued receiver.
NN prefix so It is 1999 production , I am well pleased with it and the finnish overall is so much nicer than the nef shotgun I bought new a few weeks ago.
I take it there is nothing special about the limited edition other than the medallion?
I am looking forward to many years of shooting and tinkering with these nifty little rifles and shot guns.
            Best regards, Creosote

Welcome aboard!! ;) Congrats on the new rifle, the limited edition just has the nicer laminated stock w/inlet than the standard Handi, that's about it. The only difference tween it and the Ultras is the LE doesn't have checkering. Since it's a late frame, you can get any of the high pressure barrels fitted to it, so now's a good time to start, maybe a free trigger job while it's there, turn around for barrel fitting has been just 3-4 weeks lately.
