s&w 686-3 scope mount
« on: August 10, 2006, 11:06:36 AM »
I have a s&w 686-3 with a 6 inch barrel that I would like to put a scope mount on, I was wondering if it will accept the wiegand scope mount without having to drill any holes. If I take off the rear sight it has one threaded hole towards the front of the sight and a t-style hold down for the rear of the sight, is this what they mean by drilled and tapped for a scope mount?

Sounds like it's not tapped for a scope. My 629 and 617 are tapped and they have two or three extra holes tapped under the rear sight that are not used to fasten the rear sight.
