Pretty cool little gun. I've been considering a .44 mag or .30-30 lever gun over the past 6 months or so. What do they charge for that, do you know?

jensenarms.com did not list a price and this item is not listed on the marlin web site.

nice little gun, but it has a ported barrel that i'm not too cool about and it probably has the 38" twist that does not stabilize heavy (300 grain +) bullets that I like.

I have one of the 1894P Guide Guns in 44 Mag, and it shoots like a dream with Speer 270 grain Gold Dots. 300 grain bullets shoot good also. It does not like the lighter 180 and 200 grainers. I have a Williams peep rear and Firesight front post on mine and it will shoot one hole groups at 50 yards. The 16" barrel makes it very nice to carry in the woods when crawling thru thick palmetto scrub after hogs. Mine has seen a lot of use in the woods.

It's Marlin's version of my Trapper in 44 Mag.  Diff is side eject vs Angle,  no preference for me either way, but I would NOT want a ported ANYTHING.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!

They don't make the rifle ( 1894P) with ports anymore.
At this time, they don't even make the rifle....except with a 20 inch barrel.
