Big problem with m77 mkII .308win!

I have a 77mkII sporter in .308.  I recently changed from the factory laminate stock to a factory new synthetic stock.  Now the gun WILL NOT FEED!  It wond feed at all!  When you put more than one round in the magazine, the follower either jams down and doesnt push up, or cocks to the side and lets the rounds fall under it.  The stock fit was very tight, but it went in ok and looks to have a real nice fit, but i cant for the life of me figure out this feeding problem.  The folower and or spring is not backwards or anything.  Should i send this in to ruger?  I purchased the synthetic stock from them and with their recomendation.

Give Ruger a call and se if it can be fixed over the phone - its cheaper and faster than sending it to them.
If you can't resolve the issue over the phone then they may want you to send it to them. Make sure that you remove any custom or modified parts from it before you mail it to them. They do have a habit of installing new parts when they find parts that do not meet their specifications.

I'm pretty sure there is a correct order to tightening the stock screws----also pretty sure the 45-degree screw get tightened first----if I remember things correctly.

You tighten the front action screw right down tight and the back action screw you don't tighten quite as tight.  Last the middle action screw is tighten just enough so it won't fall out.  If you tighten the center screw too much it will bind the action in the stock.

Its fixed now.  Im a jackass and had the mag box in wrong.  All is good now, but all was my fault!

Would you be interested in getting rid of your laminate stock?  I have a new stainless/synthetic .308 77mkII......., I was looking to swap out the symthetic stock for the laminate version.
