219 Zipper?
« on: August 13, 2006, 05:46:48 PM »
This is the 22 cal made out of 30-30 or 25-35 brass, I am pretty sure anyways.  I was wondering if it could be done in a handi?  And would it be worth it velocity isnt much different then a 223.

I was thinkin about a rimmed 22 cal or a a rimmed 17 cal, the 22 hornet doesnt intrest me although we have the dies, brass, bullets, ect for it.  My dad has 2 Savages in 22 hornet.

What I would really like is a 25-35 or a 25-20 but the reboring is costly.  A local Smith will rechamber for $75 so I was thinkin maybe in the future I would like an odd ball.

Marv has a .219 Zipper Handi, he loves it. He also has either a 25-35 or a 25-20, don't remember which, but I bet he'll be checking in on it!! ;D

 dk17hmr Hello & welcome a board, I have a 219 Zip & 25-35. Botn are great,
I had trouble making 219 brass from 30-30. use 25-35 brass for 219,
You can recamber a 22hornett to 219 by hand yourself, No big deal.
The 25-35 is different you have to have a223 bore to 25 cal by gun smith.
Both calibers I have wanted a long time, Now I have them, Best of luck
 Marv.
