LITTLE .45

alright, i'm one of those people that KNOW  that .45 is the only pistol round that will kill a man.

i have a thing for 1911's. they just feel right...

here in florida it's HOT for about 7 months every year. that makes it hard to hide a full size 1911 with out gettin' heat stroke.

Who makes the smallest 1911 style 45 that goes bang evry time you pull the trigger?



p.s.
if anybody mentions kel-tec  >:( or sub-effective calibers (read 9mm or smaller ;)), i'm gonna jump...

Kimber " Ultra Carry" would be hard to beat. Not only is it small and thin, but lightweight as well. I have found weight to be as important as size in a CCW. By the way, I sometimes carry a 1911---------------but I ALWAYS carry a Kel Tec! If you are new to concealed carry it will take you a while to figure out that everyone doesn't carry a man's gun with all the taticacool accessories 100% of the time, regardless of what the gunwriters and ninjas would have you believe.

edit: Just read your profile, looks like it will be some time before you can carry. Hopefully, by then pocket RPGs will be available for CCW!

i'd say get a springfield micro compact lightweight bi tone, its a 3 inch model just like the kimber mentioned and weighs an ounce lighter besides i like springfield but kimber are great as well, but did you say that you think the .45 is the only pistol round that will kill a man? ???

Well, to tell the truth I shoot a Springfield XD so it doesnt really matter.

only two i can say went bang every time were a 3 inch cdp kimber i foolishly sold and my dectonics combatmaster. But ive got a 3.5 inch springfield thats only stumbled once in a couple thousand rounds

-very true. the only reason i mentioned kel-tec is cause i knew it would pop up and i hate how they fit my hand after i pull the trigger all the way. they make a nasty little suprise for up close tho... but this would be for a primary weapon

- im not real into accessories, except for a 2x red dot on an up close rifle or MAYBE crimson-trace grips (i think that's the name)

- i shouldn't be sarcastic about stuff like that, sorry....
lots of people (good and bad) have been killed with a 22 over the years. same as .32; .380: 9mm ect.;ect.

I have a S/A Ultra Compact that I plan to use for a CCW when Kansas law goes into effect the 1st of the year. It took over 500 round's to loosen it up enough to make it reliable (FTF,FTE,JAM). But after around 1000 round's it has become very reliable. I was going to take it to my gunsmith for some work. I just seemed stiff & tight. I decided to just try to shoot the stifness out of it. I cleaned & oiled it after every outing. that's normal for me anyway. I'm not afraid of it not working anymore.

Since the "Little Cowboy"  ;D is only 15 years old, he will have plenty of time to break in a new .45  ::) ;D

+1 on the Kimber.. Great pistol, high quality... Almost as nice as my Glock 36  8)

I have a Colt Defender that I dearly love!  Light and handy, it's #1 compact .45 in my book.  This was a gift from C&S Harley Davidson where I work for 20 years of service.  (not everyone has a boss like that!) (and NO, you cannot have my job!)

Covertcowboy, don't worry about the age thing.  I gathered information for years before I was old enough to carry a handgun (21 then, now 18 here in Michigan).  Before that I carried a Crosman CO2 bb revolver in the woods and I have been an avid handgun enthusiest every since.  I have carried and hunted with handguns now for 39 of my 60 years and carried concealed for over 25 years.  When I was in my 20's and had better eyes than I have now, I used to amaze my Father by shooting starlings out of the tall oak trees around the farm with an old Ruger .22 auto.  Give this young man a break, he'll probably turn out to love them as much as we do and outshoot the bunch of us! Front sight and press kid.  44 Man
