New Ballard Union Hill
« on: August 17, 2006, 02:41:41 PM »
What agony, waiting for something that seems to take forever to get here! Longest two weeks I've ever waited through, but it was worth it to me!
My #9 Union Hill arrived! .38-55, with extra grade wood, deluxe horn tip, special order checkering, 90% stock finish, and a mint bore!
I'm pleased it is all I hoped it would be, but not sure I'll ever buy another sight-unseen! Might not work out as well next time![:0]
I knew this gun had a Winchester barrel, but had the seller pull the forearm, which confirmed it was rebarreled by Winchester and given their "VP" violent proof marking. Marked under forearm: "Rebarreled by Winchester Pepeating Arms" It's a kinda neat addition that turned some buyers off, as the seller said he got no calls before mine and very few after.

I 'm green with envy, looks Fine! The Winchester barrel would not bother me in the least. Looks like nice figure in the stock

 Cheers,

Thanks Otterone! I didn't even think twice about the barrels rollstamp! It was the gun overall that captured me!

What a great looking rifle.

The green eyed monster in me rises just a little.

Well worth the wait.

Dai.

Thanks guys! Hope to be able to shoot it this Sunday after church. Anxious to see if ammo for my Stevens 52 Schuetzen will work well in this Ballard too!
