need a source for .358 cast bullets for .35 Rem?

I'm in Nebraska and just started playing around with a cast load.  I tried some cast .358 SWC pistol bullets for my Marlin 336 in 35 Rem but they didn't work - they wouldn't chamber  . . . .  What is a good source for cast .358 bullets that I can use for plinking and silhouette matches (@50).  Thanks, Lance

I was going to suggest BTB, but at their cost it's not what I'd want to plink with. I shoot several of their bullets in .458, and their 200gr .359" in my .35 Remington Handi.

Another source is Mt Baldy, I shoot the 240gr in the .35 Rem also.

I'm thinking you have one of two problems that are causing the chambering problems.

1... the case necks are expanding too much with the .358 sized bullets so you may have to turn the necks,try different brass or size the bullets down a bit (.357).

2... when seating the bullets you may be crushing the case a bit in the shoulder area making it too wide to fit the chamber. A lyman M die would expand the neck a bit more to allow for the .358 bullet to seat easier and eliminate crushing.

I'm really surprised that the .358" bullets you used would not chamber,
did you seat them deep enough?
did you bell the case prior to seating and did you crimp the bell?
did you notice any bright spots on the neck?

Sometimes it's the SWC that won't feed through a lever action.  My .357s won't feed with all SWCs - although they will chamber if I go single shot-like.

 I never bought cast bullets - I cast 'em myself.  Thats the way to go if you really want to stretch your dollar.
