leverevolution in handi 30-30

I was just wondering if any of ya'll have tried these in your handis.I bought 2 boxes when they first came out last year for my my Winchester M94 but where all over the target so I went back to what I had been using. I bought some Winchester 170 grain Silvertips to use in my handi ( hopeful they will shoot good if not tryI will something else)Thanks in advance for any info.

I haven't used the Leverevolution, but the Federal Fusion 150gr sure shoot good in my .30-30 Handi!!

I checked the lot number  thankful I got some thats not recalled. Quick have you taken any game with the fusion loads .

Nope, haven't even hunted deer since they came out, hunted muzzle loader the year before!! Missed last season due to health reason, but this year is a go, just can't decide on what to hunt with!! ??? I may end up hunting with a different rifle every day just so I can get em all in the woods!!

I know what you mean by not knowing which rifle to carry. I wanted to try the fusion in 170 grain. I have read articles saying they were a good bullet.

There are quite a few guys that don't know what kind of rifle to use. I usually take three different rifles all 25 cal. This year I will take four or just one. Have not made up my mind yet. The 375Win is a go for sure, I am so impressed with the accuracy of this rifle even though it is on good for 250 yards and it shoots a foot low at that distance.

Found a Ruger#3 30-40 Krag but did not get it.

speaking of LeveRevolution ammo....
Picked some up for my 35 Remington Marlin, wasn't extremely impressed.
I was looking at 3-4 inch groups.  Went back the good old Remington 200 gr Cor-Lockts and the first 2 were touching...hmmmm
Will have to try again, soometime.

It's a toss up tween the .35 Rem Handi or .30-30....or .338-06..or.....280 Rem...or.....45-70...or..... ???

I tried the leverevolution in my Handi 30-30 a few months ago and it didn't like them as well as my old Marlin Model 30 did. In fact I sighted my Marlin in with them. My Handi 30-30 likes Remington 150 gr SP with Varget and Winchester primers. The Handi wasn't as well broken in when I tried them before so may give it another try but not sure there'd be any advantage to using them over the hand load.

Quick - I understand your problem. Once I retired, I assumed life would be easier. But NO. Now I have to deciede what caliber to use for hunting.  Those darn Handi's make it to easy to collect barrels and too hard to deceide which one to use. ::)

As the name implies "Leaverrevolution" there is absolutly no advantage using them in a Handy. They are less advantagous compared to a hand load, since in a Handy you are not restricted to OAL. You can move the bullet out to get a bit more powder
capacity since the 30-30 has such a long neck of .476". Seating the bullet 0.250 is more than enough to hold the bullet without a crimp.

Fred M, I agree ... Leverevolution is for Lever Action, unless you don't hand load. Hand loading spire points for the Handi 30-30 is an interesting process. I had a lot of fun finding that sweet spot for my rifle.

I got a box for my 45-70.....will try them in my Handi and 15" Contender........
