You have got to be kidding. Do you not realize that both US Repeating Arms (the Winchester GUN liscenee) and Browning are both owed by the Herstal Group as is FN and that Browning isn't even a manufacturer? They have their guns made for them by others. So now someone else will be making them with the Winchester name on them. So what, no different than it's been since Olin folded Winchester Arms and sold the rights to use the name to US Repeating Arms.

The ONLY change will be that American's will not be making the few guns they WERE making. All the rest weren't being made by Americans anyway. And Winchester Firearms hasn't existed in close to 20 years.

I agree with you in part Graybeard, the good Brownings were made in Belgium I believe, but, to save some of his enthusiasiam might not the prices go down a little on real Winchesters? It really could be better than nuthin.

I prefer to buy goods made in America whenever possible. However, since Winchesters aren't being made in th US any longer, I'm glad to see that they will be made by a firm that has long produced quality firearms. Browning has historically had their designs made by another manufacturer. That doesn't bother me at all. When the new Model 70s and 94s show up in gunshops, I'll bet they will be first rate. My repro Model 1886, 92, and 52 are all quite well made.
