.410 SHOT SHELL IN THE 45-70
« on: April 08, 2003, 03:31:22 PM »
I was reading the 9th edition of Cartridges of the World and I read something very interesting.  On page 443 the book notes that the .410 shot shell can be fired in the 45-70 rifle and I assume it can also be fired in the T/C pistol in caliber 45-70.  I have never heard of anyone doing this.  So my question is...are any of you folks doing this and what are the results?

I tried that once in a Remington Rolling Block. The shell split and blasted me in the face with hot gas. It seemed like a good thing to try when I was 12, but I wouldn't recommend it.
