.500 S&W

Handiholics, I need to know what chronographed results you are getting with the .500 S&W, mostly looking for info using the Lee 440gr gc bullet.
Please give the powder and weight of the charge, too.
I am trying to talk myself out of a .500 S&W barrel, please help burst my bubble!

I too bought this mold, but have yet to cast anything from it..its on my "TODO" list....

 I bought one of these when they where first advertised and waited months and months for it to arrive. I LOVE it, I wanted to shoot heavy bullets and the Hornady 500 really looked good. I was able to get some good velocities from it. I used "lil'gun" from Hodgden powder co.



But accuracy was only adaquite. I aint done...not by a longshot! I too found and bought this mold and want to do some loads with it. I'll be watching it to see what others have done...

What are you looking to do with it?  What velocities and such are you expecting?

What do I want to do with it?
 A friend just spent about $800 getting a single shot reworked to .50 Alaskan.
He is now faced with $3.50 a round factory ammo, $2 each for new brass, and $1 each for bullets to use in reloading.
Being the nice person I am, I was wanting to do a .50 for about $200, including barrel, brass and molds, that would do at least 80% of the .50 Alaskanand not take 8 months to do it all.
Really, I am not trying to make him feel bad.
