Wolf Ammo & The Handi

Do any of you use Wolf ammo in your Handi's?  If so, what are your thoughts?

I have shot it in both my 223 and 7.62x39 and if you are looking for a general plunking round to 50 yards it is ok i guess . most of it shot in more of a shotgun pattern than a rifle group .

For these two cal. the WWB is a far better chioce , JMHO , also the Silver Bear is just as bad .

Some guys have had problems with wolf ammo in the handi rifles.  I tried 3 in my .223, they all fired no problem there but accuracy was so bad I never considerd using it again or buying wolf ammo period.  That was until I got my sks and wolf works pretty good for sks but not my handi.

Anything with a steel case seems to jame in my 223.  I can usually shoot 3 or 4 and then a jam.  Just isn't worth it to me.  PMC is really not much more expensive and works just fine.  The cheap remington stuff shoots ok in mine too.  Not the most accurate, but just to do a little plinking, it works fine.

It's been talked about before many times, but as has been stated, they usually are hard to eject, and aren't that accurate in Handis. Not to mention that they are usualyl very dirty. The best I remembering me getting was from 55gr HP at 1 1/2" smallest from a bench.
As Stimply said though, if you want cheap plinking and you don't reload, then there are some fun to be had. I'd rather save myself the time from cleaning up from them, and be reloading with the bullet of my choice. You got to love the hobby ;D

The older ammo from a few years back was the main culprit with jamming.  The had a red laquer sealant around the base of the bullet, and this has a tendency to glue the cases into the chamber when the laquer melts.  I have heard that Wolf improved the ammo for this problem, but I have not seen or bought any of the new stuf yet.

IMO there 22 rf Match extra is good to very good depending on your rifle. There centerfire ammo is better then nothing but not by much. If your shooting the .223 try federal mill spec., just a lettle more money but much better. not match grade, but a lot better and your dollars stay in the U S A!
if its worth doing, finish it!
