Wood laminate grips for ruger single six?
« on: August 21, 2006, 04:18:04 PM »
Does anyone know a good source for aftermarket grips for ruger single six revolvers?  I saw a pic of a blackhawk that had some green laminate grips that were sharp.  Also saw some brown lam  grips.  Does anyone know where to get these or others for the single six?  Thanks

Greg

I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?"
Well, to tell the truth I shoot a Springfield XD so it doesnt really matter.

Why not just go to Lett Grips since they're the OEM supplier for Ruger anyways.  A few different materials available with or without checkering and with or without the Ruger meddalians.

Yep, deal with Lett. Sometimes the aftermarket panels don't fit the frame correctly. I have a pair of Ajax in a Zebra wood that are a tad bit too small but made for the Single Six and really look goofy.

A quick vote for Hogue - bought rubber grip for a Single Six last spring and it fit perfectly. IMHO quality is on a par with Ruger - excellent. I'm sure Lett is also excellent, but have no personal experience with them. Hogue says they expect their grips to fit Ruger perfectly the first time because Ruger guns are built consistently to very tight specs, and they can count on them, so the grips don't have to have wide tolerances in their dimensions. Thus, they fit. That's been my experience.
