I saw this foam at Wally world made for muzzleloaders.I have been avoiding petro solvents and using the all natural stuff like bore butter to clean my weapon. Will this bore foam ruin my 10 plus years of "cured" barrel?Anybody try it?
I avoid Bore Butter too! However, petroleum solvents and/or oils will not harm muzzleloader cleaning and storage concerns -- when following my own self-made rule to run two patches of rubbing alcohol down the bore -- then both sides of two dry patches before loading the powder and bullet. All this talk about avoiding petroleum products with muzzleloaders simply means to not fire the muzzleloader with this stuff in your bore. But using this stuff otherwise is perfectly fine.
Just use Windex with vinegar. I have never found any of the foam cleaners to do any better in my muzzleloader's or black powder guns. QuoteWhat ratio do you use of this combination?
wher do you find the pine bore butter? I have an almost new and about 1/4 left of yellow tube but I really want is the pine scent.
I use the one that comes in the bottle from Windex. It does not have ammonia in it. It is in a clear bottle with a clear liquid and it has Windex with vinegar on the label. No mixing needed. Don't use the blue Windex, it has ammonia in it and will inhibit corrosion.
