Tuarus tracker gunsmithing options

This may be a very stupid question so if it is pardon me. Is there anything a gunsmith can do to a Tracker to make it more reliable? Any parts inside that can be replaced to make it stronger? I hear that most Tuarus guns just have to go back to Tuarus for ANY parts. I have no problem with mine now( I hear alotta people have) I was just wondering if I could have some "tweeking" done on it like some smiths do with Rugers. Only thing that may or may not be wrong on mine is there is a slight "ring" around the cylinder and I have only fired about 50 rounds through it. The cylinder lock(I think thats what it is) seems to fall back onto the cylinder just after it disingauges it making the "ring". Im not sure if it's a big deal or if that's just how it's designed. Every thing else on it is good. Cylinder locks up very tight,bore looks good and all chambers line up to bore. Im just wondering if there is any custom smithing that can be done to make it "solid" OR if there is any reason  to have that done.

Don't think you can get parts for Taurus revolvers, and there's no aftermarket support that I am aware of. I also have never seen one break. As for the timing, they are meant to do that. Someone MIGHT be able to retime it, but he would have to manufacture parts from scratch to solve this non-problem. Can't go modifying the MIM parts inside those revolvers. My advise is if you want to you can slick it up some by polishing, maybe change springs if you feel the need, but otherwise leave it alone and shoot it a lot. I doubt if most people could come close to wearing one out in a lifetime.

I've heard both good and bad about the taurus guns. They have an excellant warrantee but I don't know anything about parts availability.. As to polishing MIM parts, just be sure to just polish. NO metal removal to speak of. The process doesn't take kindly to modification.. Nabade was right about the ring.. S&W guns are the same way.. Don't worry the piece should last a long time..

Well, I hope it last as long as guns are legal here in California. I may move by then anyhow.
