Do you swab between shots? If so, what do you use?

If I need to, a spit patch and a dry patch.

Winter Formula (de-icer) windshield washer solution from Wal*Mart. Put it in a small spray bottle they sell over in the Cosmetics section of the store. Magnum powder loads in my sabot inline need every shot-swabbing. My roundball and lubed conical guns that use less powder require a swab every 2-3 shots. :)

I use anhydrous isopropyl alcohol to swab between shots.I use both sides of the patch. This stuff dries in the bore very quickly after swabbing.I have found that swabbing greatly improves the accuracy of my muzzleloaders. If I am shooting roundballs I then load normally. If I am using sabots,I follow the alcohol patch with a bore butter patch and use both sides to swab the bore. This makes the sabots easier to load and I get better accuracy than by using the sabots in a dry bore.

If I do and it is very seldom I swab between shots, I was a patch with Windex with Vinegar and then a dry patch.

Windshield washer fluid, isopropyl alcohol, and windex with vinegar ? That's quite a variety. I'll have to give those a try. I've been using TC #13 or TC # 17. Other than those being cheaper than the TC products is there an advantage to those over the TC stuff? Or is the TC stuff really not that good? Thanks.

Simple.  I take the 1st patch and wet it in my mouth with saliva.  I swab my barrel with the 1st side of the patch, turn the patch over and swab my barrel with the second side.  Then, i take a dry patch and do the same.  This seems to work extremely well.  Bullets have touched each other numerous times, even without a bench type rest.  I think the main thing is to get the major fouling out of the barrel.  My gun shoots in the same place when its 100% unfired, clean as it does after the swabbing process mentioned above.  Good luck, gt2003 (Greg)

I use alcohol prep pads. These are the pads that are solked in alcohol that the people use before insulin shots. After each shot I run one up and down the bore and do not have any trouble. They are 98 cents at wal mart for 100. Each one is in a package...

I use alchohol also, but I'm going to get some of those! Great idea.

The prep pads work great. The alcohol is dry by the time that you are ready to pour the powder in. After about ten shots I run the brass cleaning brush up and down a couple of times. I have not had to use anything else...

What diameter are those prep-pads?

I like a minimum of 2-1/2" patches ... usually buy 3" because they carry more fouling.
