Has anyone had any experence with the 470 Capstick?

I was thinking of doing a No#1-H in a .470 Capstick.Has anyone used or seen one used on game.Thanks for any info,Dave.

No, but I did meet Peter Capstick years ago at an NRA convention.

Strong voice, strong personality and the biggest powerful handshake.

He was pleasant enough to take a moment to answer my question on sights.  He said he preferred the type of sight on the Win Mod 70 African.  I got the feeling he liked to talk TRUE adventure.

We who read about african adventure or travel the world for wild game lost a good guy. 

If the round named after him is even partly as good as the man I met, it should be a great cartrdge.

i saw someone shoot one at the range and on a show called dangerous game on OLN they used one on a cape buff at 5-12 yards. why not a
458 Win. Magnum, 470 Nitro Express or a 458 Lott in a CZ 550,Mitchell's Magnum M98 Mauser Rifle or MODEL 798 from Remington. If i was hunting big game i would want to have more than one shot. From waht i have seen on T.V  3 shot is what is fired on dangerous game. What are you going to hunt with that?
