Has anyone tried the new G2 barrel on a contender? I want a .30-30 barrel and like the 23" length.

there are g-2 barrels availible at midway , If i remember correctly they will only fit the contender and not the encore.

They will fit the standard Contender frames. T/C changed the locking lugs again, but they work with the "old" style frames. The roller pin that fits in the two piece bolts is now part of the two bolts and they have a slightly different angle/shape than the previous version.

Definately not designed by someone who was thinking (the old ones). The need to move back the drive pin that holds the locking lug, and maybe they wont break. It is the weakest part of the system right where all of the strength is needed most.
