Pistol,
I don't know if you are a resident of Colorado and have time to check out areas before the season. If you can there are better areas than the Flattops that do not receive so much pressure. You can help yourself by applying for leftover licenses during non general seasons in totally specified GMU's. Ex: cow tag 3rd season in GMU 2 (strong hint). With 11 points you are well on your way to getting a tag for a bull in GMU 10, 2, 201 that is in the B&C 320 or better class. Or you could try for an RFW tag on Crazy French or Trinchera Ranch on the NM border. I have 14 points and next year is the year. I kind of agree with the reply but elk will move onto private property if pushed in a lot of areas. Sometimes the best place to hunt is the boundary if you know their movement pattern. Sorry, but that is my experience for the big boys. Cows and youngsters are not that hard, try Colorado State Forest near Walden.
