I've used the .50 & .54 cals for years and agree that those would both be very effective loads.

IMO, the .54cal conical is probably overkill for deer, as the 230grn .54cal ball is outstanding in it's own right, but if you've already got the rifle sighted in for the conical and might go after bear with it as well, probably makes sense to leave well enougth alone.

Good luck

Good choices . Like roundball says  probably heavy for deer but  dead is dead . You 54 cal  load is real close to what I use for bull elk .
Mule deer and black bear  I use RB with 80 grains of powder in my 54  . No problems out to about 100 yards  though most of my shots are however around 30  with 100 being the max i shoot even with conical.
place your shot  and even lighter loads will do the job  dont rely on the heavy conicals to do it for you

My Hunting load in My .45's (2 Kentucky rifles, one flint, one
Cap) is 50 grains of fff Powder
behind a Tight patch round ball.
I use 70 grains of fff powder in My 2 .50 Calibers With a round ball
and 60 grains of ff in My .54. Doesn't sound like much, I know,
But it is very accurate in my particular rifles. I use 50 grains of fff
in my .50 cal handgun.  My hunting ranges are pretty close
where I hunt and 75 yard would be a long shot.
Very heavy cover!

By deer, and bear I'm guessing you are loaded for Wapiti and Grizzly.  ;)
