uniwads

A buddy of mine bought some used shotshell reloading equipment.  Along with it he got a bag of uniwads.  They consist of two pieces and he was asking me how they were to be used.  I have never used anything like this so I thought I would ask here.  Exactly how is the uniwad supposed to be used?

They are used just like any other wad except you first have to insert the one piece inside the other. Loading data for them does differ somewhat from other normal one piece wads. I bought some many years ago and tried them, didn't care for them and tossed the remainder in the trash. I'm not even sure if Lage is still in business. Finding the data for them will not be simple as they were never very popular, I'd trash them and buy some decent wads if it were me.

Alliant has some 20 Gauge data on-line and Hodgdon has at least one 12 Gauge load on-line, but were it me, I'd toss them too. Never liked them.

Did Lage ever even make them in 20 gauge? I don't remember for sure but all I ever saw was 12 ga and I'd sure not even pay postage to get them to my house for my use.
