5.56 nato chamber for contender.

I am wondering if the nato 5.56 chamber is available for contenders.  I realize that you can shove 5.56nato in .223 chambers but can ou get the contender barrels cut to the nato camber dimensions?

Also other then keyholing is there a problem with running 5.56 in the 223 chamber in the contender?

I have shot them in my 15" Contender for years, no problems, accuracy was fine..................

trieh, I could be wrong but it sounds to me like your are looking for a solution to a problem that does not exist. I shoot ball amo as well as comercial amo as well as reloads in all my 223's including my tc carbine barrel. No problems that I've found.

If it is a new barrel you may need to break it in to get 55gr bullets to shoot in a 12" twist. Regards, Byron  ;D

If you want very specific NATO specs or throated to your own dummy rounds or whatever, several outfits specialze in that kind of work.
I had MGM make a .357 barrel to my specs (short throat) and it came EXACTLY as ordered. Made from a Shilen blank, it shoots like a dream.
