« on: August 30, 2006, 12:52:20 PM »
Finally got around to cleaning up my shop and taking a group pic of the Handis!! ;D 21 rifles and 6 extra barrels, there's a 20ga and 22Mag on the wall above the rest of the group.

You can see it in the FAQ and Help sticky under Peep and Firesights, it's a .45-70.

Nices pics, thanks!  I really like your non factory choices the 338-06 and 405 Winchester, i'd like to see an accuarcy write up on both.  An Africa hunt with both (non Big 5) would be a blast!

I'm afraid you won't get an Africa report from me, but range reports are available!! The first .405 and .338-06 reports were a year ago, here's one of the last trips. Without the search feature working, I can't dig the old ones out, sorry.

Wow, nice collection Tim.  My collection is a little on the puney side but your manlicher 45-70 is what inspired me to build my own.  Is that a straight grip on that 45-70?  Jelous.

Thanks!! The butt stock on the mannlicher is a Target/BC stock, I put it on it since I don't shoot heavy loads in it. ;)

TIM, Thank you very much sir, the 338-06 has always been an intriguing round I never being a fan of belted magnums.  Did you have a 30-06 barrel bored out?  Thanks again!

You're very welcome!! I had a 26" barreled .25-06 barrel rebored and rechambered for the .338-06 A-Square which is a little different than the .338-06 Wildcat, longer and thicker brass. Wayne did the rechamber using his standard .338-06 practices, but my Weatherby .338-06 A-Square dummy round wouldn't fit in the chamber, he had to lengthen the chamber and enlarge the neck slightly. Both Mac11700 and I had this rechamber/rebore done by him.

Quick you really need to get help... No seriously, it looks like you are running out of room to store all those Handi's. If you'ld like you can send a few my way I still have some room in my safe.  Tell you what I would even be willing to take them out and shoot them occasionally so that they don't get stiff and rusty.   So what do you say Tim  ;)

So..... you've maybe decided that these H&R's are something you think you might want to possibly get into seriously?

Quick, guess you were. She let me pick up a new 45 LC single action that afternoon. Now can you do something about the weather? It started raining about 2:30 AM Sat. morning and has'nt stopped. I may have to throw some plastic bottles out in the driveway after lunch and shoot them from the carport.

Congrats on the new shootin iron!! You can send some of that rain this way, we haven't had enough rain in the last month or 2 to amount to anything, just enough to make the dust on my car a mess!
