Looking for place to hunt...
« on: August 31, 2006, 04:53:26 AM »
I'm looking for a farm/private land to hunt in Kentucky, hopefully within a short drive of Lexington.  Of course I'll be carrying my Contender...  I'm military and we'll be on leave from Germany.  I won't have time to scout so I want to stay off of public land.  My daughter (14) will be trying for her first deer this year.  My son may also.  I would be willing to pay a reasonable trespass fee if necessary.  Anyone able to help out?

Thanks,

You might try calling John Claypool, Proctor Knott St. in Lebanon, Ky.. He used to work with the game section on Fort Knox(maybe he still does). He may be able to advise you.  Pat

Contact me via email.  Give me a little more information regarding your leave dates.

ngh,

Are you still interested in a hunt local to Lexington?   I can accomodate you and the kids.  Several options available, at no cost.

I suppose no guns here has changed his mind.  Too bad, I was in the "support our troops" mode.

Sorry guys... I'm still here, just can't get the wife to nail down when she wants to go on leave.  Wasn't even sure ofr a while if we would be able to come in or not.  Been TDY a time or two lately as well as moving and getting promoted.  Looks like the only time we will have to hunt would be on the Youth weekend at the end of the year.  Would LOVE to be able to get a doe at the least for the daughter.

Sorry if I made you feel unloved and unappreciated....

I've got land available in Owen, Madison and Garrard counties.  I can provide virtually all equipment and supplies, including guns and transportation.  Enough stuff to make a nice weekend for you and your party.

I'll provide details if you request them.
