Depends on where you are at.

My brother has been on public land in Augusta County and been scared to death walking into a clearing and seeing occupied tree stands lining both sides of the clearing 20 yards or so between each stand.  I've been on National Forest land in Highland County for entire weekends and not seen a soul other than the guys I was hunting with.  Typically the more remote you get the less people you see.

I occasionally hunt Nat'l Forrest in Bedford Co., where I hunt is usually just me and my buddy.  Every now and then we'll bump into someone, or see another vehicle, but not very often.

I drive up when I can from Florida, and hunt the land around our old farm down in Wythe County.  I have taken some very good bucks in the Jefferson Nat. Forest.
