Band-tailed pigeon hunting?
« on: September 01, 2006, 05:50:35 AM »
Anybody hunt band-tails?  I was going to give it a try this year, but I missed the application deadline in Washington.  Any good strategies for next year?

I've hunted pigeons both in NY as a kiid and here in Idaho! Both places they are consider pests so year long season exist!
They are edible-I don't hunt or eat them in the summer months. My experience they are tough birds so I prefer a 12 ga with heavy field loads of 7 1/2 or 6 shot 1 1/8 oz or better! When I pass shoot them full choke and # 6's .  Over fields or jump shooting 7 1/2 and a Mod choke.
