I probably had 200 rounds through it. Most of them Rem 150 gr Core Locts with a few 140's thrown in. The rifle was good for 1" - 1 1/2" three shot groups. Lately, I couldn't get any consistant groups. I'd fire a shot and it would hit point of aim, then the next shot would be no where near the first shot and the third shot no where near the other two. I went through the usual tuning practices typical with these guns, but this particular rifle has never been finicky. I could always bang out three shots in succession and it would group well. The only modification was the O ring.
I removed the scope mount and remounted it, again, with blue Loc tite. I even changed scopes (both Bushnell Banners). Then I noticed after placing the barrel back into the receiver that if I wrapped my hand around the barrel and rolled it back and forth, I would hear and feel the barrel knock against the receiver. As a test, I placed a piece of masking tape on the barrel hinge and when it was re-installed on the frame, I could not duplicate the knock. This is when I called NEF and spoke to Gordon.
Anyway, its locks up good now. Hopefully I'll get a chance to test it this weekend, after Ernesto heads north.
