Midway is having a sale on barrels (imangine that!). They have the 460 S&W in the Pro Hunter with a 1-18 twist (20") and then they have a 1-16 twist (15") Encore barrel.
Now, I realize the 15" is for the handgun only, but it's the barrel twist that I "don't get". Is it because the 15" is shorter that it has the faster twist? (I would guess this). I know the Smith handguns have "gain twist".
I guess I just figured if the shorter barrels have a faster twist, wouldn't a longer barrel be better with the same faster twist....just because it's longer? (or maybe it's like taking asprin....you know....two is good....but 22 isn't good?)
Of course, maybe what i have said makes absolutely no sense at all to normal people.
Dave.
