i noticed the bolt action is real sloppy compared to other rifles ive had but when its locked in to fire it seems fine, and groups real good,its a .243,ikts the stainless stell model target,varmint. are these always like this?

Yup.  Both to the sloppy bolt and fine shooting.

Some confuse sloppy for smooth. All mine are good shooters too.
