Help me make a good decision...T/C encore pro hunter?
« on: September 02, 2006, 03:55:36 PM »
I am looking at a new t/c Pro hunter thumbhole in 50 cal. It is a pretty significant investment for a muzzleloader. does anyone have one and how do you like the new features? How is the trigger? is it agjustable or replaceable? Help me make a good decision

From what I gather the triggers ARE adjustable by changing springs and polishing up. Everyone has reported great luck with the encore/prohunter muzzleloader and I feel you can't go wrong with one. However I choose the Savage MLII , which is capable of shooting smokless powder. Can be purchased for around 150.00 less than the PH, depending on model.
In no way am I knocking the TC prohunter, I have one just not the ML barrel.
good luck,DM

ps- the savage MLII has the accutrigger

You mean 'free replaceable trigger!"... even 15 years from now. Everything on that Pro Hunter falls under the T/C full-lifetime, transferable warranty.

BTW.... if you have no plans on swapping Encore barrels for centerfire use, buy the less expensive & just as good-shooting ML (Omega).
Keep that ML smokin'

I have the regular encore 209 x 50 and am very happy with it. This has been discused before on this site ande I don't remember anyone having anything negative to say about the rifle. The only thing I heard that was even remotely a complaint was redhawk saying you can't do the 25 acp conversion on the easy out breech plug.

I have one and love it. I am using the Remington Kleenbore primers and I am having great success with it.  I still own 2 other Encore M/L's and I love them just as much, but the Pro-hunter sure looks good to me. If I had to just choose one and thank God I don't, I would take the Pro-hunter.
