Lyman 1200 DPS vss RCBS Chargemaster 1500
« on: September 03, 2006, 03:29:00 PM »
I have one of the original Lyman 1200s and it has worked well for several years.  However, when I use fine power, such as H110, it tends to bind up and stop.  I contacted Lyman and they replaced the powder box and tube for free, but it still binds up when using H110.  I suspect that the design just will not work with these fine powders.
Have any of you had simular experiences with a Lyman 1200?
I am tempted to buy the RCBS Chargemaster 1500 and see if this handles fine powders.
I would appreciate any feedback from Chargemaster owner/users as to how it works with fine powders like H110.
Thanks!

I have the 1500 and have had no problems with any powder I have fed it.

The Chargemaster has handled every kind of powder I have tried, which are many. It is the best piece of loading equipment that I have bought in years.
