Remington 572 pump Long , Long Rifle but no shorts????
« on: September 04, 2006, 06:30:27 AM »
Hello I just aquired a minty early 70's remington pump .22. But there's something odd about this one. Where the barrel is stamped ".22 S , L & LR" The S is X'ed out and appeares to have been done at the factory.  I wonder why this is, I've already tried some shorts and they feed shoot and eject fine.

That is odd. I own two of them and both list the shorts on the barrel as an option. Call or write Remington and ask about it.

Maybe the factory didn't do it.  Maybe the owner did it because he did not want (his kids maybe?) shooting shorts in it and fouling the chamber so the long/long rifle cases would not fit.  Just a thought.....
