I've only shot the 58gr Vmax loaded ammo from Hornady, it was a waste of $20. Most .243 Handi/Ultras like the 90-100gr bullets, but there have been a few exceptions, if the search was working, you could probably find those loads, but without it, you'll have to hope someone posts their experience with em.

What do you all think about the range for the .243 would be? maybe 300-400yds? on a decent day with not much wind. if its windy you could allways use heavier bullits right? I mean then they wouldnt get tossed around so easily.

I shot up a bunch of them in a Rossi .243 I had and they were very good.  I used a bunch of the VLC's in .224 in a 22-250, the VLC was just a coated Varmintathor, and they were also very good.  Larry

Mitchell likes big scopes, probably a 6-24x or so, I know he has a Tasco Varmint, I sold it to him.

I wouldn't suggest you use either of these 2 loads as your starting point...but the components are worth a try.mitchells 243 barrel was handlapped..both he and & I worked up loads in small increments to achieve these groups..Always  follow the manufactures recommended loads..and if you deviate from them..do so with the full understanding of what you are doing is dangerous and should be approached with caution...checking for pressure signs on every firing.Loads suitable for this rifle may not be for yours...Reduce all loads and work your way up slowly
