For still hunting (long range sometimes, up to 250m), Sako Finnbear .300WM, Leupold 3.5-10 X50 illuminated reticle, Accubond 180gr, best compromise in term of accuracy, expansion/penetration.
I killed four this season with this rifle. We hunt this way during spring and summer to protect crops.
For drive hunting, during autumn and winter, Win 94 444M with a Docter red dot sight, Nosler partition 250gr as of this year (before 265gr Hornady but they expand a bit too much to my liking and I fear a lack of penetration in a big boar should it smash the shoulder). I killed 4 more with this outfit, in fact two last Sunday in a row, I thought I had three but I managed to place two bullets in the same boar ! Note that drive hunting means you use dogs to force them and they run like mad. You have to be quick, three bullets in a couple of seconds.
The biggest this year was 130kg (290lbs).
