I used it years ago in a couple of caplocks..."P" is a 3F equivalent...hotter/faster burning than "RS" (2F equivalent).

NOTE:
The amount of 3F (P) is to be reduced by 15% when used in place of 2F (RS)

EXAMPLE:
If you were going to use 100grns Pyrodex-RS, you'd only use 85grns of Pyrodex-P to stay in the same pressure range.

I love when I my answer before I have to ask.  so now I only have to ask part two of my ?  Do I need to back off farther than 15% if using 777.  I keep reading that it has higher vel.

No... not farther! In many cases, the energy and speed can be matched with as little as 10% reduction going from a blackpowder or sub to 777. The 15% reduction on the 777 jug is a high-end recommendation. You really need a chronograph to measure how much of a variance there is with your ML . One ML may be 15% - the next may be 10%. The only blackpowder brand that closely matches 777 in power and energy is Swiss Blackpowder FFF.

Now if you were a current 777 user, then switching from 777 FF to 777 FFF, you only need to back-off around 5%. Both of these powders granule sizes have little variances - compared to most other brands.

FFF or (P) pistol powder can be used in any ML from 32 to 62 caliber.
Keep that ML smokin'

I just opened up a new can of pyro p this morning. Started shooting at 60gr. and 15gr cm filler. 5 shot prb grouped 1 7/8". I have a Renegade 50 cal. with a tasco 3x9 mil. dot scope, the dot covers 1" at 25 yds. and thats distance i shot from. 5 shot avg. 1598 fps vel. taken at 5 ft. in front. Next i shot 5 shots using 60gr and 15gr. filler using Hornady Pa. conical group was 1 13/16" avg.1443 fps and next 5 shot group was 1 1/4" using green sabot and speer gold dot soft point 240gr. 60gr. no filler avg. vel. 1401 fps. I will try 60gr. no filler next time out and go up to 70gr. then 80gr. then 90gr. and 100gr. with and without filler 5 shot groups. To get real tight groups i need a xhair scope not a mil dot! Spect i 'll get a B. Banner on it soon.

By the time you get to the bottom of the can, You have a large amount
of flour fine powder. I don't really like that, But otherwise it works pretty good.
Does not work very well in a Flintlock pan, But if you save the above mentioned FINE powder,
for your pan, it works pretty good too for that. best flinter pan powder I have ever used,
came from unrolled Black cat firecrackers. Even a tiny spark sets that stuff off !
