I grew up hunting with an old JC higgans 12 ga , 28" pump gun. I liked it well enough back then. Several years back , I got a decient quality 12 ga O/u w 30" tubes for trap shooting. ( Valmet 112ST) I like it well enough but still don't seem to shoot it as well as the old JCH. At 8.75#, it's not light either. I'm now thinking of getting another "messing around" gun that couldbe used for an occasional round of skeet or sporting clays. ( I don't hunt anymore)
I'm thinking 20 ga as I don't have one and am looking to lighten up a bit. So far I've looked at Rem 11-87 premer, Charles Daily semi auto ,Browning BPS and rem 870 and Winchester pump. (all 20 ga, all 28" w choke tubes.) They all feel/ point pretty good but I'm wondering if either the bottom eject or the "pump" of some of these modles is going to make life difficult in the odd round of club level clay bird shooting.
Any thoughts/ suggestions are welcome.
Looking to keep it in the 300-600 range, light and versitile.
