Need input for New page - calling all sub-caliber shooters
« on: September 10, 2006, 04:51:13 AM »
Well, guess I've been bit by yet another shooting bug. Seems the place is infested!
I've a .14/221 on the way and will be making a new page on the website for the sub-calibers (.17 cal and below). I'd like some input from you great folk as to what you'd like to see on the site. For the .14 cal Photos of course and we'll be carrying the bullets (had a heck of a time finding them myself) some load data and experience with it as it comes. What would you like to see on the .17's?

I always figured anything below .22 cal. was a sub-cal and you left out .20 cal rounds.  ;) Really any where you want to start it is ok with me. .17 cal. is the smallest bullets I load at present and so far have not been bitten by the .14 cal. bug. I load and shoot 3 .17 cal. rounds, the .17 AH, .17-223 and the .17 Rem. My favorit is the .17 AH, and a .14 cal. with the AH case would be a real winner, in my oppenion. Hope you get something going with sub-cal`s.

Catfish,

Generally that is the case that sub-caliber is in refrence to anything smaller than .22, but I have no real interest in the .20 cal so I don't have much to put on a web page about it. Although we may go ahead and put some general data and cost for the bullets if we get enough requests. Consider yourself number 1.

Great news!!!!! :D
We are having a small run of .14 cal cleaning equipment made. It was the final hurdle to get across and not one else I could get in contact with had any.

I've just started with a .17 Hebee, and I'm finding load data to be pretty sparse.

The .17 HeeBee is a great little cartridge, PD's and 'chucks out to 250-300yds. Okay, data:
20g Berger - RL7 15.4g 3850
25g Berger - RL7 15.4g 3690
30g Berger - RL7 14.5g 3370

20g Berger VV130 13.8g to 16.1g 3433 to 4016
22g Berger VV130 15.2g to 16.0g 3745 to 3957

I would also think that AA2015BR, H4198, W680, and 1680 would all work well but I do not have anything worked up for them.
