Crush rib sabots

Ok, How are the crush rib sabots doing in the T/C Guns? Omega and Encore.

Ease of loading?

Accuracy?

With Hornady XTP 300gr?

They load a fraction easier than MMP's new three petal sabots. But I now prefer the MMPs because they are shorter - perfect for my bulk pistol bullets.

Just shot a some of the crush rib sabots. I will stay with the MMP for now.

Just orded some of the NEW 45cal type for the 40cal bullets.  Got some tight fitting 40cal 200grain PR LBT's, I'm hoping these will work better than the MMP tan sabots in my 45cal Disc Elite :)

OK, Why?

What were your results?

What muzzleloader were you shooting them out of?

Did they load easier when the barrel was dirty after a shot?

Sorry Two Bears,

They did load a bit easer than MMP HPH12 on my old 250gr sst. I got good groups 1 1/2 with the sst and crush ribs on top of 115gr of 777 fffg from my Encore.

But I have not had time to shot them with the 275gr Barnes xpb. I have been seeing alot of .75" groups with this bullet and a MMP HPH12 over 120gr of 777 fffg. This barnes bullet loads much easer than the 250gr SST or Shock Wave with any sabot including the new super gluide, crush rib or MMP HPH12. I am a bit concerned about the Barnes bullet out of the ML do to its design. It is intended for the s/w 460 which has a slight advantage in the MV department. Not sure how it will open up with the lower MV from the ML.

Im sure I will try the crush rib on the new 250 shock wave bounded as well as the 275 gr Barnes in a week or so. I let you know if I learn anything new.

Wow

What a difference these sabots make :o  Just got my CrushRibs in for the 45cal.  I pushed the 4 troubled and extra tight bullets thru my bore:

In order:  175/40cal  Barnes Spitfire,  200/10mm XTP,  200/40 Shockwave,  and 225/40 PR-LBT




All I've  done so far is push them through my Disc Elite 45cal with a ram rod to see how easy they load.  And these all load easier by more than half.  That's waayyyyy better than the MMP Tan sabots by far ;) ;D

The next range report will see if they can hold up to 120grains of APP/Goex Pinnacle :)  The petals are thin but very SLICK!

I have been using the crush-rib sabots for about a year now.. Iam shooting a custom barrel Encore,,50cal. and i shoot Barnes 300 grain bullets, behind 150 grains of Select pryrodex... They are much easier to stuff down the the barrel, in case you need a second shot...  They are more accurate the the factory Barnes sabots...I have found this to the best killing combination out there and i have shot them all...Just my personal opinion,,,, ;) ;) ;)
