the shoot out
« on: September 16, 2006, 07:03:05 AM »
I was at the range with my H&R 852 and crosman 2200. There was 4 other people there with airguns and one had a Air force talon, one had a kodiak, one had a hunter 890, and the last had a Diana 350. tom was there shooting his Glock 31 and his 1077. tom was there watching some of the groupings i was getting when one them walk over with his talon and says to me "why are you useing that kids toy at a gun range?" I looked at his  and saids " well this kids toy killed a coon and a duck at 20 yards." he says something like i am full of s##t and to my face you need a real gun to hunt anything with and then he say " i bet i can out group you" i put down 20$ and says show me. he says with range and i said 30 yards sitting 2 shot each and it was on. i pump it up and took two shots and it was hole in hole, then he take his shots and gets a 1.5 inches. He says f that i already had hole in the target and some more people come over. I says well then let do it one more time no cash and i ask the other people with airgun if they want to try to and they says yes. now it's 5 people with guns in the 600-60$ class haveing a shoot off. i put up 5 rat targets and i said " let all take are shot at the same time". i got a 9/10, the kodiak got a 13/16, talon 1.2, gamo 9/10 and the diana got a .77. My grouping were not the best but they all said they never saw a pumper shoot that good and gamo man wanted to know with i did to it or if all pumper shot like that and were he could get a gun likr the one i have. I told him the 2200 is not made anymore and the one i have was made in 1975 and also most pumper shoot alright like 3 out of 5 in a 1" circle. Tom told me as we were leaveing that i should have took his money and i said " guns and piss off people don't mix".

"Guns and pissed off people don't mix" Is a good out look on life. Thought I would say, good job. As I belive you to be a young man, I will say that this out look will serve you well all of your days. { if the wager stated out on friendly terms, take the money, as  you discribed it, you did fine.}     A good day to you, and good shooting to all.    D.C.
