Hey PA-JOE

I have a Heritage rough rider combo. Had it about 10 years. How is it? use it as a snake gun on my farm with .22 shot shells. With .22 shells it don't shoot real well. CRACKS real loud with subsonics. Have not tried the mags and probably won't. The cylinder has play when the hammer is cocked around .004-.007 thousands. If I were guessing the bullet gets shaved on the throat of the bore because of the play. Wow, that sounded like I knew what I was talking about. Do I like it? It's ok paied 120.00 new. Nice holster when on the atv. Did I say ear plugs?

I have one,

I would save up for something else.  I am looking at a bearcat to replace mine.  I have about 3000 rounds thru it and the revolver is showing some serious wear.  I had to replace the firing pin at about 2000 rounds.  Customer service is realy good with heritage so if all you are looking for is a cheap revolver to carry but not shoot alot then it will be fine but if you want to do alot of shooting then I would look at something else.

Well come on they aren't a single six! Then again they don't have the price. I've got two I know what your thinking but they are ok. Maybe the henry of single actions. Shure some wear quick and some last. Cheap and taking a chance 50/50 not to bad odds. :-X

First of all, Hi!

I have a RR combo, actuctally three.  I got the first one in a pot in a "friendly" poker game.  I had $45 in it.  Its the alloy framed one.  No problems, and it shoots very well.  22mag likes the WW solid points over the CCI hollow points.

The second one was throw in a a trade.  New one with the red rosey grips.  Oldest Princess claim it as her own.  Got one cylinder that needs reamed.  No problems other wise.

Third on is a 6", the other two are 4"s, and it the steel framed one.  No prolems and I find myself carrying the RR over my SS OM alot.

Action it stiffer, the finish on mine get touched up with a black perm marker, and they don't have the heft the SS does.  But, they hit where they are pointing at.  ALL of my RR out shoot the NM SSs!  Now, I can't "prety" them up like the SS either, so the CASs might not like them either.   The only Ruger that comes close to winning me over is the new Bearcat. And all three of my RR still cost less!

BTW, heres the Princess's new RR that I shot at 15 yards from a rest.  The two fliers are from the bad cylinder.  I stopped loading them after the first 12 rounds.  CCI BLAZERs is the ammo.  A good cheap pistol with good cheap ammo!
I'll be needing that for squirrels and such.....

Like a few other handguns I can think of, the Heritage will serve you well if you have a bunch of papers that you don't want to blow away. AKA.........  :D

$180???  OUCH!!!  Paid $109 for one a few years ago, it's a stainless model with 10 inch barrel.  Haven't seen another since.

But for $180 you can buy a used Single Six and have a better gun.

Heritage is basically FIE.

I have one. Paid $109. + tax NIB with just the 22lr cylinder. I figured I wouldnt use the mags anyway. It was a good buy for the money. I wouldnt pay $180 for it though.

If you were taking a trip and you decided to fly and the airlines told you your chances of crashing were 50/50 would you still fly.  ???
