I'm kinda interested in the same thing as shaner.  I live between Bucyrus, and Upper, right off of rte. 30.  However, I am living in Alexandria, VA for the next year doing stuff for the military...can't believe they made me miss deer season!!!!  Oh yeah, Stimpy, did you get the problem fixed with your pistol scope sliding?

Dongreyhawk,

Went to school down at Hocking college, bummed around your neck of the woods quite a bit, and am in the McConnelsville guard unit, so I think that is kind of close to Buckeye Hunter.

Jefferson Co. we have some nice public land but the majority of my hunting these days is on smaller private properties 50 acres or less. That way I have 3 places at any one time and depending on what part of the season we are in that I can choose to hunt. I am always looking to sound out landowners about deer and if they are over populated with them I am glad to offer them a hand!

Stimpy that was a heck of a drive from Lima! I know that area having living in Dayton for many years prior to moving to Steub.  We really do have a good mix of forest and farms for hunting here though. Lots of deer especially in town where you can't hunt! ;D

Hey guys,

That sounds like it would be a lot of fun.  I am just getting ready to get back into the work mode after being off on a long needed vacation.  Maybe we could get together when the weather straightens out. :)

Long time gone Danville kid here. Have a Brother still there.

Fished and hunted Knox lake, Kokosing,Mohican, Owl Creek, Pleasant Hill, many other areas therebouts.  Used to work an Auction house in Chesterville, back when Jesus was a boy. And water ski on Delaware Res. All summer long.

Parents retired in Freddie Town for years after retirement from Coopers.  Think it was on Watson St.

Wow!  Memories.  ;D  It's good to read the post's.

Hey Shaner:  Nope!  Been away from Ohio, other than visits for a long time. I do cherish fond memories of the area though. Have been wanting to hear from Knox area.  If memory serves...My folks lived at 1 Watson St. About the time you were speaking of... That's when I was in Mansfield. They were still there when I came to the West coast 78-79 or such. Of course they've been gone several years now.

We retired to and make our home on the East side of the Cascades of Central WA State. Right close to the Canadian Border.  This is Cowboy and Orchard country. With Sage brush to high grass ranges to 6K feet and mountains to over 10K.

My wife is more into Ruger Hoglegs. I'm a Snubby & Glock guy somewhat with a total addiction for anything that shoots. Do have short 12 Ga for the Ranch or Poking around in Bigfoot country. My present Fav is my Glock 21 converted to a hunting 10MM.

I'll be watching this thread for others in your area too.
Thanks for sharing. Sure is good to hear about back home.
