Deer Season.
« on: September 19, 2006, 04:55:32 PM »
Making sure everything is in shape for deer season. All is well including "Solly". Solly is the Etrex Camo. He is getting a new set of highly polished batteries and I inspected his neck cord. That amazing Solly appears to remember all the "Hot spots" visited last year and is ready to add a few. He even knows where we left the big one. I know this because there is a waypoint marked in secret code, "BG 1". He is happy. If Solly is happy I am happy.

Have a good hunt.  I have missed the first half of the season.  But it is time to pull my camping gear out and get ready for the last two weeks.  Like tucoblue I have gone back and check my way points.  I have been studing my USGS Topo series for a way to get around some very steep rock ridges and into some migration paths.  I created a few way points to keep me on track.  All I need now is twenty year-old knees.
There is a learning process to effectively using a gps.  Do not throw your compass and map away!
