42 grains of aa 5744, mmp black "short" sabot, hornady 250 grain XTP, win209 primer.

if you're looking for loads, you might want to check out the following sites:

(and for a ton of savage information:)

mine is new this year.  plan on trying either vv n120, or vv n110 next year, just need to decide whether i want to shoot a 250 or 300 grain projectile.  found that sabots are crucial in load developement as well.. i'm playing with the MMP short, the MMP HPH12, and the MMP HPH24.  if i try a .458 bullet next year, i'll also use the MMP orange.

My current load is 69gr H4198, 300SST, MMP-12 sabot, CCI-M primers.
All shots at 100 are alll but touching. Recoil is a bit stout. Will stay with this load for this year. Will miss some of ML season due to going to Co. elk hunting. Still use ML durning regular rifle season tho. If the reports come back good on the TC Bonded SW this year, I may go back to a 250 gr. bullet. The 250 SST were not great performers  for me. Hopfully the 250 TC B SW will hold together better.
Current load is around 2450FPS at muzzle. Can get around 2650fps with this powder and 250gr bullets at a very safe presure. That's the thing about H-4198. More recoil but low presures.

good luck,DM

I am shooting 43 grains of N110 and the 250 SST or the 250 XTP. Good accuracy. I don't want any more recoil than that. I think 3,000 foot pounds will do the job on a deer.
Aim small don't miss.
