B-Square M-14 mount
« on: September 20, 2006, 05:45:20 AM »
Anybody have any opinions/suggestions/comments on the B-Square scope mount base for the M-14?  Price seems good, but I haven't even been able to find a picture, much less a review.

Thanks

John (new guy)

John, I tried the B-square mount, thought I would save some bucks.  It was a waste of money.  The retaining bolt broke twice, the mount would not hold zero for more than a few shots.  I finally got rid of it, this was several years ago so they may have improved them by now.  I would suggest you go ahead and spend the money for a good mount to start with and save yourself the aggravation.  Also you will need some type of check piece for proper alignment.  Good luck

Thanks, your answer pretty much agrees with a reply I got on a local (Canadian) forum.  Too bad.  I guess you get what you pay for.  The gun in question is a Norinco M14S, not a real Springfield.  I kinda hate to spend more on a mount than I did buying the rifle ($400 Canadian, brand new).  I have to check into the details on the Smith Enterprises mount that is listed on their website.

Thanks again for your time. :)

Well, I see that I've managed to screw that post up really well!

Sorry 'bout that.  Damn computer illiterate... :-[
