Are Old Glocks Better ?????
« on: April 12, 2003, 04:36:39 PM »
Hey  guys ___ I have an older model 17, and where handgrip and receiver meet the gap between them seems to be nonexisting, however on my newer Glocks  ,the gap seem to be tremendous , it seem to me that would be a perfect place for the elements to enter gun. Were'nt the torture tests done on the older 17s. What do you think.__ THANKS BAYRUNNER

I like the older Glocks better because I don't care for the finger groves molded into the newer frames.  They just don't feel right to me.  I like a Hogue slip-on, with finger groves and palm swells, much better.

Just like the ak47 there are gaps where the elements can enter the action but remember that also allows the elements to come out also.  Personally I would prefer the newer Glocks as Glock has made sever design upgrades over the years that have strengthened the action.  Glock issued several recalls of LE issued weapons but made the changes to their other models silently.  The newer ones should be stronger and more durable than the older ones.
